Brass objects that have aged often start to tarnish, develop spots, and lose their original shine. If you're not a fan of the aged look of brass, there are several options for cleaning and polishing untreated brass. Here's how we restored the shine to an old brass candlestick using Glanol and a soft cotton cloth:
First, remove any residual wax.
Then apply Glanol evenly with a soft cloth to avoid scratching the metal. Glanol is a gentle polish without abrasive ingredients that removes dirt, restores shine, and provides a protective coating. It is effective, suitable for all types of metals (except those with antique treatments), and contains no toxins or acids.
Polish the metal with a dry cloth until all dirt is removed and the surface is shiny. The metal is now protected with a water-repellent surface that prevents rust and corrosion.
